IDS Skillset & Experience
Our company was founded with the goal of becoming a trusted partner that provides technical expertise and exceptional customer service to bridge the gap between IoT technology providers and those charged with the proper installation & setup of IoT devices. Our team of highly experienced project managers, engineers & technicians have the expertise & knowledge to deploy sophisticated smart building solutions at scale.
IDS is proud to be the smart building systems integrator of choice for some of the world’s biggest brands. To date, we’ve completed more than 1,500 projects around the globe, successfully deploying over 4 million devices that cover 220 million square feet.
IoT Devices Experience
Smart building systems rely on a variety of IoT devices and fixtures that work together to help monitor & control the overall performance, efficiency & comfort of a building. At IDS, we have amassed over 10 years of experience successfully installing & commissioning a wide range of fixtures & devices.
Whether it’s the latest LED lighting with integrated motion sensors, or discrete IoT devices that can detect temperature, humidity, occupancy or water leakage, we have the in-house expertise required to efficiently integrate a wide variety of IoT-enabled devices into new or existing networks.
Controls Experience
Smart building systems provide the ability to easily monitor & control a wide range of IoT devices, fixtures & equipment across a single facility or an entire enterprise. But, achieving this level of simplicity can be a challenge depending on the types of control systems in use.
IDS has the technical expertise to design and integrate a variety of control systems whose setup, installation & operation vary widely in complexity, usability and interoperability. Our technicians will help ensure that your control solution can work with your BMS platform or related applications and is properly configured to provide full functionality. We can also program advanced lighting functions and sophisticated lighting effects using DMX control.
Common control systems: Lighting, Safety, Security, Access, HVAC, Energy Management,
Environmental and more.
Connectivity & Communications Experience
Smart building systems rely on a wide range of technology platforms, device connectivity protocols & communication standards to create a flexible, but robust network that can seamlessly collect & share information between building systems in order to optimize performance.
At IDS, we are technology agnostic and have broad experience deploying IoT devices across networks using a variety of legacy & next generation communication technologies. We can help design a system from scratch, or work directly with a client’s existing BMS platform, lighting controls software and wireless network to setup, configure or commission a wide range of IoT sensors, devices & fixtures.
Here is a partial list of technologies we work with: 3G/4G/LTE/5G, BACnet, BLE, Bluetooth, Dali, DMX, Ethernet, IEEE 802.11, LoRa, Modbus, NB-IoT, RFID, Sigfox, Wi-Fi, Thread, Zigbee, Z-Wave and more.
Low-Voltage Wiring Experience
To ensure efficient operation and reliable data transmission, many smart building systems and network devices rely on a dedicated low-voltage infrastructure. The installation of low-voltage wiring, also known as structured cabling, designed to carry 50V or less, is a complex process that differs significantly from standard 120V/240V electrical work.
At IDS, our technicians possess extensive expertise in low-voltage installations. We specialize in setting up 12V, 24V, 48V, Cat5(e), and Cat6(a) cabling systems that effectively minimize signal interference and uphold data integrity. Collaborating closely with general and electrical contractors, we offer cost-effective and dependable support in designing and installing low voltage wiring for both new and existing spaces, spanning single or multi-floor buildings.
Energy Management Experience
One of the strongest incentives persuading clients to upgrade their facilities with a smart building system is the potential to significantly reduce energy consumption, improve operational efficiencies and help meet sustainability goals. At IDS, our energy management experts will provide a thorough energy analysis of your operation, detailing current energy use and identifying key areas where smart IoT device deployment could help improve energy usage over time.
Our team of technicians can help clients become more energy-efficient by integrating smart building solutions that enable energy savings and digitize the energy system for further optimization. From targeted LED lighting upgrades to advanced, smart energy metering that accurately tracks & visualizes energy use in real-time, clients now have a wide range of tools available to meet climate goals and further drive energy efficiency throughout their organization.
Software Development Experience
IoT device deployment can be a complicated process that is often labor intensive, unreliable and inefficient. As a tech-enabled company, IDS is unique in our ability to develop custom software solutions that can improve the speed, quality and cost of IoT deployments at scale. Our GreenLight cloud-based software, mobile apps and smart monitoring technology can help streamline deployments and maintain smart building performance over time.
The GreenLight Provisioning Platform and GreenLight Scanner 2.0 mobile application were designed to support any IoT device, control system, network or gateway for the ultimate in deployment flexibility and scalability. IDS’ GreenLight software-enabled deployment process allows real-time updates on deployment progress and can provide life-cycle tracking of installed devices. In addition, our GreenLight scanner mobile app is contractor-friendly and enables remote commissioning to significantly reduce deployment time, improve accuracy and produce digital asbuilt documentation as needed.
